Thanks to its highly sulphurous water sources already exploited in Roman times, Montbrun-les-Bains was a very popular resort from the 16th century to the revolution. The thermalism then being very popular, the Marquis of SUAREZ d’AULAN built in 1865 a thermal establishment copied on that of Baden-Baden.

Montbrun then becomes an important city of water cited as an example in medical circles. The First World War was unfortunately fatal to the activities of the establishment which could not reopen at the end of the conflict. In the years 1970-1980 the municipality decided to relaunch the thermalism and thanks to the fierce determination of the mayor, the new baths opened their doors on May 4, 1987.

In 2006, the spa is enlarged and renovated offering spa guests a pleasant and functional building. Valvital offers medical treatments in a family setting.
